Brendon McCullum recognised for Spirit of Cricket

BLACKCAPS captain Brendon McCullum has been named at Lord's overnight as this year's recipient of the CMJ Spirit of Cricket Award for professional cricketers, recognising the BLACKCAPS' conduct and leadership on this year's tour of England.
The CMJ Spirit of Cricket Award is named for the much respected English cricket journalist Christopher Martin-Jenkins, who passed away in 2013. It is jointly judged and awarded each year by the MCC and BBC to the cricketer they consider has most exemplified cricket's plinths of fair play, sportsmanship and universal respect for opponents and umpires.
Four awards are made each year, one each in categories recognising boys, girls, schools and professional cricket (Pro).
Announcing the 2015 Pro award, MCC President Mr David Morgan said: "Brendon McCullum’s conduct throughout the New Zealand tour earlier this year embodied the ‘Play Hard, Play Fair’ message MCC champions through the Spirit of Cricket, and it’s fantastic to see that culture present within the boys and girls who have been recognised with the other awards."
